Team Lockers, Jerseys, & Shot Clocks…Basketball? Baseball? or Golf?

Rory shared a sneak peak of his Boston Common Golf Team’s locker room set up. Despite the absence of a physical golf course, the TGL has it’s own clubhouse with customized lockers for each of the league's five teams.

The design is sleek, modern, and nothing like the men’s locker room at your local clubhouse. Also, seen on the hangers are baseball jerseys?🤔

To spice things up further and add some extra heat to the mix, TGL decides to throw in a shot clock, making sure things keep ticking at a lively pace unlike your 5 hour round last Sunday.

The inspiration for the shot clock in TGL might have stemmed from Major League Baseball's success with the recent pitch clocks.

Also, teams have the power to call timeouts during matches—four in total, with no roll-overs. And get this, they've even got a referee and a "booth official" on hand!

It’s obvious that TGL is attempting to infuse the atmosphere and traditions of other sports into this fun golf format. But is this the way to modernize the game? or has this been pushed too far from our roots planted at St Andrews?

TGL Format:

15-hole matches in which the first nine holes are three-person alternate shot match play while the next six holes are rotating singles. If any matches are tied through 15 holes, it goes to overtime with a soccer penalty shootout-style closest-to-the-pin competition.”

The $200 Titleist Clone: The Kirkland KSI :P

Hold onto your carts, folks!🛒 Costco's going full throttle into the golf equipment game. I hope they set up a swing cage with all the new clubs they’re releasing so I can sample them!

Costco presses forward with expanding it’s Kirkland Signature Golf line with their Driver making it onto the USGA Conforming List.

At first glance, it's hard not to notice the striking resemblance to a sleek Titleist driver, but the surprise comes with its less-than-expected game-improvement features. It’s minimalist and slick with the exception of that Kirkland Signature logo they have to change. Everyone knows that a cool logo adds 20 yards, right?

Gearing up for Crunch Time at Butterfield

Things are heating up at the Bermuda Butterfield Championship- well, things were always hot, it’s Bermuda. Port Royal Golf Course is all set to witness a showdown of epic proportions, as most players in the field gear up to battle for their spot in the lineup of events in 2024.

Adding to the excitement is the debut of 15-year-old local prodigy Oliver Betschart - the youngest player to tee it up on the PGA TOUR since 2014. Just imagine breaking the news to your high school teacher that you're playing at the Butterfield Championship and need a two-day hall pass.

Also in the mix, we've got big names like Adam Scott and Lucas Glover, ready to bring their game to the course. Alongside them, Camilo Villegas (and his Spiderman green reads) and recent winners Akshay Bhatia and Nico Echavarria are set to spice things up even more.

Adam Scott is the favorite as Seamus Power is surrendering his title defense by sitting this one out.
